Jamaican Jerk Chicken

 Jamaican Jerk Chicken



Ingredients:

  • Whole Chicken, or chicken leg quarters, or drumsticks
  • 6 Green onion
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 2 habanero peppers
  • 1 1/2in ginger root
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground all spice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg






















Directions

  1. Chop up green onions, peel and smash garlic, peel and slice ginger root, remove stem from habanero.
  2. Place all ingredients into a Food Ninja or food processor.  Pulse several times.  You want the ingredients to still remain a little rough and not buried.

  3. Place chicken in 1 gallon size ziplock bag with marrinade.  Remove as much air as possible and toss to coat the chicken.  Place in refrigerator for 4-24 hours.  The longer, the better.

  4. Preheat grill to around 400 degrees.  Once ready, take a paper towel coated with cooking oil and oil the grates.  This will help the chicken not stick during cooking.
  5. Cook chicken for 30 minutes or until and internal temperature of 165 degrees is reached.  Flip the chicken frequently.
